Objectives
The hybrid event was organized by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), in conjunction with the Permanent Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations Office in Geneva and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia with the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.
The session aimed to create awareness of the link between water and displacement, with climate change accelerating a global water crisis, which – together with rainfall variability – is expected to be one of the contributing forces in population displacement.
